Turmeric is a wonder herb in Ayurveda and has been used for centuries for all kinds of ailments. It is only now being recognized in the West for its healing potential. It is a natural antibiotic and has amazing anti-inflammatory properties.
Why add it to our winter tea? Well it relieves mucus, coughs and fevers. And it reduces Kapha which is exactly what we can have too much o in winter
On a spiritual level it is said to give us the energy of the Divine Mother. How cool is that! Gotta be happy with drinking in the Divine every day! And if that wasn't enough it also cleanses and purifies the chakras and the subtle energy body and makes us more limber for our yoga practice!
If you're not drinking it already then make a point of having at least one cup a day. Or better still, make a big flask of it in the morning and sip on it all day.
Your body will thank you for it!
